It is located at the top of Chamundi Hills whose height is around 3400 feet and at about 13 km distance from Mysore city. This is one of the famous places to visit in Mysore in 2 days. Devi Chamundeshwari is considered a Shakti Peetha and it is one among the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas. When you reach the temple you can see first a statue of Mahishasura bearing a sword in one hand and a cobra snake in the other hand. Chamundeshwari Temple is constructed with unimaginable architecture right from the entrance. Chamundeshwari Temple’s history dates back to a mythical past when the demon king Mahishasura was slain by the goddess Chamundi. The temple campus has many shops from where you can buy souvenirs and other local products. After the darshan of Devi Chamundi, our next destination is Sri Nandi Temple, which is located at some distance from Chamundeshwari Temple.

2. Sri Nandi Temple

The temple has a huge sculpture of Nandi, Lord Shiva’s bull. Which is located en route to Chamundeshwari temple. You can visit this place when you return from Chamundeshwari temple. It is located at some distance from Chamundeshwari temple. The sculpture of Nandi height is about 16 feet and around 25 feet long and is regarded as one of the largest statues of Nandi in India.

3. Mysore Palace

It is located in the northeast corner of the Mysore Palace area and it is regularly renovated by the Maharajas of Mysore. The temple is constructed in Dravidian architectural style and exhibits a fine example of the ancient-time architecture.
